Piccolo Spoleto Festival
This 90-minute leisurely amble through the historic district of Charleston gives guests glimpses of the lives and works of major national and regional poets with ties to the Lowcountry. Members of the Poetry Society of South Carolina offer lively readings at a dozen sites. Poets' works included on the walk are: Dubose Heyward, Janie Screven, Hervey Allen, Henry Timrod, Josephine Pinckney, Paul Hamilton Hayne, Beatrice Whitte Ravenel, John Bennett, Archibald Rutledge, William Gilmore Simms, Elizabeth Verner Hamilton and Edgar Allan Poe.
May 31 at 10 am, 10:30 am, 11 am and 11:30 am.
Starts at Washington Square, Broad and Meeting Streets.
Tickets: $10 adults; $5 seniors/students.
