was circulating the manuscript for at the time of her unexpected death in June of 2017. Thanks to the efforts of Susan’s friends who knew of the work, the manuscript for her fourth and final book was located and published by Press 53.Susan was known throughout the Carolinas for her tireless devotion to poetry. Whether reading, writing, teaching, organizing groups to attend poetry events, or working for poetry organizations, Susan was active daily in the service of poetry.
