Poetry Society of South Carolina May Forum

The May Forum, which closes out The Society's calendar year of programs, is the oldest tradition in the 105-year history of The Poetry Society. There have been only two years in all that time that it didn't take place: during the polio outbreak of 1939 and during the COVID shutdown of 2020.

The May Forum includes the announcement of the winners of the Spring Contests, a retrospective look at the 2025-2026 calendar year, election of the board for the 2026-2027 season, and the Forum itself, which will be moderated this year by Len Lawson. Len will begin with a short reading of his own work, followed by the Forum. The entries to the Forum Contest have been handed over to Len, who will choose the 3 finalists.
