Acerca del evento

No experience is needed. We even bring the paper and pens. Come try writing a poem! Free!

What makes us all one—and what makes us all different— seems deeply involved with a voice both imagined and actual, inner and social, mine and someone else’s; that separates me and includes me. —from Robert Pinsky

How does a writer establish a voice that is unmistakably her own? Can changing our voices change our hearts? We will consider, in the light of interiority, intervention, and integrity, poems that show the wild mutability of a writer’s voice.

Geffrey Davis is author of Revising the Storm and Night Angler, both from BOA Editions. He has won Anne Halley, Dogwood, and Wabash prizes, and fellowships from Bread Loaf, Cave Canem, NEA, Vermont Studio Center, and Whiting Foundation.

He teaches at the University of Arkansas.
