Fall Competitions:
ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED BETWEEN OCTOBER 15 AND NOVEMBER 15. Prizes will be awarded at the February meeting or mailed to those not in attendance.
The DuBose and Dorothy Heyward Society Prize: $500.
Offered for a poem of any style or nature. Open to PSSC members only.

The Starkey Flythe, Jr., Memorial Prize: $200.
Offered for a poem of any style or subject matter. Open to anyone.

The John Edward Johnson Prize: $50.
Offered for a poem of any style or nature on a religious theme or subject. Open to anyone.

Offered for a poem of any style or nature relating to how we encounter the world through our senses. Open to PSSC members only.

The Klyde Robinson Poetry Prize: $200.

Susan Laughter Meyers Memorial Prize: $200.
Offered for an unpublished poem of any style or theme. Dedicated to the memory of Susan Laughter Meyers, who was a president, board member, and energetic supporter of The PSSC. Open to PSSC members only.

The Goldfinch Prize: $200.
Offered for a poem of any style or topic. Open to PSSC members only. In fond memory of Susan L. Meyers and named after her poem “Hat of Many Goldfinches.”

Offered for a collection of three (3) Haiku or Senyru of any subject. Open to anyone. Entries should be in the traditional three-line, seventeen-syllable format (5/7/5).

Offered for a poem of any subject. Open to current PSSC members only. Entries should demonstrate an interesting use of rhythm and/or meter, and/or rhyme (which may or may not follow a repetitive rhyme scheme), and be fun or impactful to read out loud.
