About the event
Crystal Simone Smith is the author of Ghost Woman: A Rising (2026), Down to Earth (2021), Running Music (2014), and Routes Home (2013). In 2020, she received a Duke University fellowship to research and compose African American haiku. She also is the founder and managing editor of Backbone Press. She teaches for the Thompson Writing Program at Duke University.
