Poetry Society of South Carolina May Forum

The May Forum, which closes out The Society's calendar year of programs, is the oldest tradition in the 105-year history of The Poetry Society. There have been only two years in all that time that it didn't take place: during the polio outbreak of 1939 and during the COVID shutdown of 2020.

The May Forum includes the announcement of the winners of the Spring Contests, a retrospective look at the 2025-2026 calendar year, election of the board for the 2026-2027 season, and the Forum itself, which will be moderated this year by Len Lawson. The entries to the Forum Contest have been handed over to Len, who will choose the 3 finalists. Those poems will be read and discussed by the Forum moderator and the audience, and a vote will be taken among those in attendance to choose the winner.
