PSSC Poetry Group in Columbia
The Columbia Poetry Group began in January 2026 under the leadership of Elaine Mathis. Chris Errol Maw began as the facilitator in May 2026. This group meets monthly on the fourth Monday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the Main Richland Library in downtown Columbia.
Chris is the founder and coordinator of the Columbia Readers & Writers Group and administers an online poet group called Together in Poetry. She has been the literary publicist for two local poets and has written some poetry herself. Chris loves writing but her main strength is in planning and facilitating events.
The Columbia Poetry Group shares their own work and encourages others to share their work of poetry. We aim to provide members with inspiration, education, social connection, and opportunities for personal and creative growth.
