Cambodia

The monk in orange
seeking a question for her
unyielding answer

No gods were present
when death came—a room
waiting for music

Shedding her dead wings
she gained the heart of a fish
and learned how to swim

What was left of her
they found in a bed—painted
in serious pink

Street children giggling—
a wild rush of raindrops fills
the town’s leaking cup
